Want to make money online with niche marketing, but don’t know how? Keyword research, how to go about it? Let me help you with some of the basics.

There are thousands of niche markets, complete with customers who are “ready to buy”! You need to find niches where people are actively looking for something (more information, a product or service) and supply it for them. Monetization comes in many forms, the idea is to supply your visitors wants and needs, whether it’s more information or a physical product or service. Many times your visitors are just looking for additional information and many of them will be willing to buy that info.

Having some interest, or even expertise in the niches you choose can be helpful. If you’re going to work at this you may as well get some enjoyment out of it. No matter what your interest-there will probably be a related niche that could be profitable.

Finding these markets begins with keyword research, in other words what does the person looking for information in that niche actually type into the search engine. If you were searching for information on “how to build a Blogspot niche blog” you could use the search term “blogging” but you would probably not get the results you were seeking. Taken one step further, if you wanted information on “how to build a Blogspot niche blog” that is what you would type in the search engine to get the relative information you were seeking. In today’s Internet marketplace you will need to focus on a pretty tightly targeted niche market to succeed in obtaining organic traffic (from the search engines) that you should desire. Why search engine traffic? Because simply-put-it is by far the best kind (for an Internet Marketer anyway.

What tools can you use to find money making niche markets? Google’s keyword tool works well for me-and it’s FREE (I love free stuff!). When using this tool, make sure the keywords and phrases you target are relevant, and look like money makers. For instance can you see how this keyword phrase (ebooks about_____ for sale online) could be a money maker. To get the most accurate results be sure to use the “exact match” option. Targeting the less competitive keywords is good-especially if you are just starting out. Try building your site around, say 10-20 long-tail keywords that are relevant to each other. Use them in post titles and in the body text, as well as anchor text in linking back to your niche blog.

Finding money making niches isn’t really that difficult, just take your time, and do your homework, because targeting an unprofitable niche takes just as much time as targeting a money-maker.
