Membership Site Craze
October 26th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedIn the last couple of years, membership websites have literally
taken the internet by storm. Today, paying for online information
is the norm rather than the exception. More and more ‘infopreneurs’
are making money with membership websites because this business:
-Guarantees steady, recurring income.
-Has high profit margins.
-Requires negligible to low startup and ongoing cost.
-Can be expanded easily as your business grows.
-Allows you to make a neat supplemental income doing something you
love and know.
-Allows you to earn extra money through affiliate marketing and
cross selling.
In this era of super-specialization, a membership website is the
easiest way to get paid for what’s in your head. What’s more, if
done correctly, you can develop several highly paying streams of
income from a single website.
So let’s get started straight away and look at Key #1: The
Internet’s Best Paying Niches.
Obviously, the very first step towards creating a highly profitable
membership website is to figure out the products that sell. Notice,
I am not talking about finding a niche market. I’m talking about
finding a niche market that sells. There is a difference.
These days, you can easily find a niche using tools such as
ClickAdEqualizer. But just because you’ve identified a popular
keyword phrase does not mean that people are willing to spend their
hard-earned cash on it.
The trick is to find topics that people are willing to spend money
on, and develop them.
Here are some of the most popular moneymaking categories on the
internet today:
1. Business research, information and content sites: Includes
business news, business research, corporate information for
investment purposes and investment advice.
2. Community sites: Subscription based member-only websites that
have been formed by a close-knit community of users.
3. Personal growth and self help sites: Information on
self-improvement in specific areas like goal setting, building
self-confidence, parent-child relationships and educational
counseling etc.
4. Health and fitness: Concise guidance on proper eating, diet and
exercise regimes are very popular with thousands of people. In
fact, the term ‘losing weight’ is one of the most researched key
phrases on the internet.
5. Games: Online games are opening up in a big way.
6. Home business: Nearly everybody wants to know how to make money
from home. The market is huge and growing at a tremendous pace.
7. Sports: Sports news and news on sporting personalities and
avenues.
How do you spot your niche? Well, what are your hobbies? What do
you do on a regular basis? Is there anything there of value to
others? Zero in on a topic that you feel passionate about and start
building up your knowledge base. Become the expert. How?

Web 2.0 and Social Marketing
April 15th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedWhat is all this Web 2.0 and Social Marketing talk?
What is it for many people is confusing. Some Gurus rave about it and some dismiss the concepts.
I am here to tell you that Web 2.0 and Social Marketing are here to stay.
Today, we will talk about what Web 2.0 is and is not. We will also discuss how it can help you as an internet marketer.
Web 2.0 is a term used to describe sites that are built on user interaction, or at least encourage contributions from the user.
Examples are Facebook, Squidoo, MySpace, and Twitter. Blogs are also web 2.0 sites. Why should you be interested in Web 2.0, well the answer is traffic. No traffic equates to No Sales. Facebook and MySpace now get twice as much traffic as Google.
The best thing about Social Marketing is that it is totally free. There is no excuse not to be taking advantage of this concept.
Understand that one cannot attack the community. As a marketer in these Web 2.0 communities, you must become a part of the community before you implement your subtle sales tactics.
Embrace the opportunity, but understand the differences in the venues. Read the terms and conditions of the individual communities. I will discuss in detail some of my favorites and how to use them in coming weeks.

Guerrilla Balance Sheet Product Review
February 29th, 2008    Subscribe To Our Feed***** Overall Five Stars out of Five
Product Location: viralurl.com/LinkCloaker/guerrilla1
Product Type: “$7-report”
Product Overview: While billed as a $7-report,
there are a few key differences.
First, at over 50-pages, the report is more like a
$99-ebook.
Next, the ideas are legitimately new and not some
watered down rehash.
Last, while the report basically assures there is
more to come (probably even more to buy), the
promises are fulfilled with “How to do’s” as well
as “What to do’s”
Product Business Purpose: The purpose of this
report is to help business owners “Never run out
of money again” by turning your expenses into
profit centers. Additionally, it focuses on how
to turn your marketing expenses into a profit
center.
Product Quality: Quality is high and noticeable.
The authors, who are working with the father of
Guerrilla Marketing, Jay Conrad Levinson, claim to
have generated over 9 drafts and revisions and it
shows.
In addition to be very readable and graphically
attractive, the action steps throughout and the
supporting links allow for implementation of the
ideas immediately.
Summary: The basic premise is classic business
advice causes owners to focus on the wrong things,
losing, and that may be responsible for the high
failure rate of most businesses and entrepreneurs.
An alternative approach, where you get paid for
everything you do…and specifically for the areas
of expense in your business, is offered.
While some of the case for turning expenses into
profit centers may at times seem to be more work
than they’re worth…
…the main example of turning your marketing into
a profit center is spot-on, solid, and simple.
This is certainly the best $7-report I’ve seen in
a very long time if not the best ever.
As a final note, like most $7-reports, you earn a
commission when you recommend and promote it to
others. However, where other reports are 100%
commission, this program pays on two tiers.
Consequently, there’s no 100% commission.
Additionally, when you read the report, you’ll see
why it would have been incongruent for the authors
to offer a 100% commission.

The Guerrilla Balance Sheet located on the web at

Blog and what?
February 6th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedYou’re a blogger and most likely, you are constantly hearing about pinging or blog and ping. The thing is, you don’t know what it is and what it can do for your blog. Well, that’s fine because a lot of bloggers don’t quite understand pinging. In this article, I will explain what pinging is, how it helps your blog, and what the best pinging services are.
What is pinging?
When a blog is pinged, it essentially tells a web blog tracking system that the blog has been updated. Thus, pinging is the process of telling tracking services that a site has been updated.
So how does pinging work? Well, a ping service scans blogs for updates on a regular basis. Whenever there is a new update for a particular blog, it is reported back to the pinging service’s site. You can almost think of ping services being just like search engine spiders - both scan sites looking for information, and both report that information back to their specific site. The difference is, a ping service only reports back new blog posts.
Why is pinging useful for your blog?
Pinging, in effect, tells people that there is a new blog posting available. Those who are loyal followers of your blog will see the ping and want to visit your blog. Those who haven’t read your blog before will also see the ping and perhaps think “Hey, there’s a new blog I haven’t been to before, I think I’ll check it out”.
Pinging helps to increase your traffic because it tells people when your blog is updated. Those who visit sites with pinging services will see this information in the form of a ticker on the left or right side, or top of the page. The ticker is usually in XML format and typically includes the title and URL of your blog, as well as the date and time of the update.
OK, so now you know what pinging is. But which websites offer pinging…?
The answer is, there are several pinging services available which you can use to have your blog pinged. We’ll go over some of them right now.
Pingomatic.com
This one is usually the standard ping service which is listed in your blog interface. It pings several ping services at once like e.g. Blogstreet, IceRocket, Moreover and Weblogalot.
Weblogs.com
Weblogs.com is probably the most well-known pinging service. Weblogs.com monitors sites for updates and then pings whenever there is an update to report. Virtually every blog software is available to use Weblogs.
Yahoo’s Blo.gs
Another popular pinging service. This one is offered by Yahoo and has a built-in integration with movable type and other tools. One cool thing about this service is that it offers the ability to give out updates via Instant Messenging services like AOL and ICQ. It is a direct pinging service, so those who sign up for subscriptions to your blog will be sent an email anytime your blog is updated.
Blogrolling.com
Blogrolling allows its bloggers to manage their blogrolls (updates) through a web-based interface. Recently
updated blogs are also highlighted on Blogrolling’s web site. Data is automatically retrieved from other sites like blogger.com and weblogs.com every 5 minutes. Often times your blog is already being pinged by Blogrolling, so you might not have to sign up for it. Search on the site first for your URL before signing it up.
Technorati
Available at http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping, Technorati is another service that pings blogs. It gets its data from a variety of places and is definitely a site you should go to for blog pinging. If you’re adding Technorati tags to your posts, it will also give you multiple backlinks which can have a very high pagerank and thus will improve your site ranking in the search engines.
These are just 5 of the many different blog pinging services available. A quick search on Yahoo or Google will reveal many other possible blog pinging services to use for your blog. It is best to ping/sign up for as many as you possibly can to ensure that your blog is well-pinged.
A well-pinged blog will definitely help your blog attract more visitors because not only will you get direct visitors from these services but also valuable backlinks. And since these sites have a high authority with the search engines (meaning, most of them have high Google Pagerank), you can get easy and automatic backlinks from authority sites.
This is especially true when your links can be found on popular so called “TAG” pages. A tag is similar to a keyword. So ping as many many of these services as possible and watch your blog traffic increase.
P.S. You can enter a list of websites to ping e.g. within your Wordpress interface. You can find it listed under “options/writing”!

Think Conversion, not just traffic
February 4th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedI wanted to tell you of a great resource that I just found that
will teach you two of the most important concepts of your marketing
business:
1. TRAFFIC.
2. CONVERSION.
Most websites will only teach you the first one, which is not
actually as hard as it may sound.
There are tons of ways to drive traffic, but the thing that people
struggle with is not getting more traffic, it’s getting more sales.
How hard would it be to make sales if 1 our of every 10 people who
visited your website purchased? All you would have to do is start
an Adwords campaign and you’d be making sales!
Unfortunately most people are lucky to make a sale for every 1000
visitors, which makes most traffic too expensive.
Well, this BBOTtrafficclub offers free information on how to improve onboth sides, and you can get it all at BBOTrafficClub.
